Create A DIY Motorised System Instructions

Things To Consider When Creating Your Motorised System:

SD or HD Receiver?
Do You Want A Standard Digital Receiver MPEG-2 or HD Receiver MPEG-4 For HD Channels?
Channel Recording Using USB
Do You Want To Be Able To Record Your Channels From USB? Then Make Sure You Choose A Receiver With At Least 1 USB Socket And Some Have 2 USB Sockets, You Will Then Be Able To Use A USB Stick Or External Hard Disk Drive To Record On, These Just Plug In.
CAMS and Cards
Are You Thinking Of Using A Cam (Conditional Access Module) Now or In The Future? If So You Will Need CI Slots.
Dish Size:
Think About The Size Of Dish You Require, In General The Bigger The Dish The More Signal, There Are Over 40 Satellites Across Our Ark And Most Of These Need Over 80cm And A Few Need 1m or More.
Brackets:
Make Sure You Are Installing On A South Facing Wall And There Is No Obstructions Including Trees, Buildings, Walls, Etc, In The Line Of Sight, For A Full Ark You Will Need A Clean Line Of Sight Of Around 40 Degrees East to 40 Degrees West Of South, If This Is Not Possible Then You Can Install Your Dish Above The Roof Guttering Level Where Your Dish Can Move From East To West And Not Hit The Wall, For This You Will Need TK Brackets And A Larger Pole.
LNB's Don't Be Conned:
Don't Be Conned By Adverts For 0.1dB LNB's: This Is Only An Average dB Typical Loss Through The LNB And Will Not Give You Extra Signal This Can Only Be Increased By A Larger Dish Size.
We Know That LNB's Have Improved Over The Years But This Is No Guarantee That The One You Purchase Is What They Say On The Adverts Or Box Even, As Large Batches Of LNB's Are Tested By The Manufactures And Given An Average Typical dB Loss, All LNB's Are Different, This Means That You Could In Affect Purchase An LNB With Say 0.1dB Stated Loss And Actually Receive An LNB With Say 0.4dB or Even More In Some Cases, Don't Be Conned.
Motors DiSEqC And 36v
All Modern Receivers Now Use DiSEqC 1.2 and USALS, All Our DiSEqC Motors Use 1.2 and USALS Commands And Therefore Work With All Our Receivers.
If You Already Have An Older Type 36v Motor Sometimes Called H2H Mount or Actuator, or You Have An 36v Actuator With A Polamount And You Do Not Want To Change You Motor And/or Dish Equipment, Then You Only Have To Purchase A VBox (Choose VBox Instead Of Motor) This Will Enable You To Use Any DiSEqC 1.2 Receiver With Your Existing 36v Dish And Motor.

All Our Cable Is Sky And CAI Approved Cable Just Choose The Length You Require make Sure This Includes Enough To Move Your Receiver Around The Room If Required In The Future.
