SORRY NO TRING SPORTS CARDS FOR SALE AT PRESENT

SORRY NO TRING SPORTS CARDS FOR SALE AT PRESENT

Please note:
Tring cards will no longer be sold by us due to the direct outside interference of clients viewing cards by third parties. There are still a few Tring cards showing 3pm Saturday and 4 pm Sunday live EPL games. Unfortunately most Tring cards no longer show these games, and have been illegally switched off by third parties. The only reason a few clients have cards working, is because Tring do not know they are being viewed in Europe. If they did know they would switch them off like the rest.

Our Suppliers maintain that Tring cards are classed as European due to the EFTA free trade agreements signed by the Albania government as long ago as 2007 and long before Tring even had EPL live football. With this in mind, it could very well mean the people or companies switching off cards are in breach of E.U trade regulations and in breach of the same regulations by stipulating in contracts the broadcaster cannot sell outside their own country.

Our suppliers are waiting for the UK’s High Court’s verdict on the recent Strasbourg judgement. This is due in November 2011. Until then we advise all clients to wait, before complaining to Tring TV. Let us assure you all, that this is the only route that can be taken as per the UK Courts recent verdict ver Sky Italy cards that were also interfered with. The Judge ruled dissatisfied clients with the service or change of service from the broadcaster must deal directly with the broadcaster.

Our Suppliers are not allowed to give legal advice and so the above is only opinion that should be read carefully and given your personal thought. Our Suppliers are spending thousands on legal advice. Yes you all have consumer rights and yes you all have a right to complain if you are not receiving 3pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday games as Tring TV promised and who have received your money in full.

Please also be aware that bogus UK sites claiming to be authorised Tring dealers do not exist and Tring TV do not have any .co.uk web-sites. There is no Tring UK Support and if you see sites claiming to be, do not pay them money, instead tell them to switch back on your 3pm games free of charge that you have already paid Tring TV for. Then you will see just how authorised they are. Paying money to other dealers will only resolve your 3pm problem for a very short period of time and when the cards that have already been deactivated, the ECM code that opens 3pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday games are flagged as being reactivated after being deactivated before, they will be deactivated again by Tring. So please be very careful before paying more money to have your cards upgraded again by third party dealers.

We hope this information helps and let me assure you it’s just as frustrating for us, as it must be for you.

When we have more news we will post it on our website.

Premier League games can be shown on foreign decoders

Premier League games can be shown on foreign decoders

This round-up of Tuesday's main media stories reports on a crucial court case for football and television.
Karen Murphy saved more than £350 per month by using a cheap foreign decoder

A pub landlady has won the latest stage of her fight to air Premier League games using a foreign TV decoder, reports BBC News.

The European Court of Justice ruling could deal a major blow to the Premier League and its lucrative TV rights model. The BBC sports editor David Bond explains: "Unlikely though it might seem, the case all centres on a Portsmouth pub, the Red, White and Blue, and its landlady, Karen Murphy. She was fined back in 2006 for showing her customers live Premier League matches accessed via a Greek service and an illegal decoder."

4 October 2011 Last updated at 11:59 Help A pub landlady has won the latest stage of her fight to air Premier League games using a foreign TV decoder.

Karen Murphy had to pay nearly £8,000 in fines and costs for using a cheaper Greek decoder in her Portsmouth pub to bypass controls over match screening.

But she took her case to the European Court of Justice.

The ECJ now says national laws which prohibit the import, sale or use of foreign decoder cards are contrary to the freedom to provide services.

Lord Sugar to head YouView

Lord Sugar to head YouView

YouView, the much-delayed VOD system proposed for the UK, is to get Lord (Alan) Sugar as its new chairman. YouView, formerly known as Project Canvas, is not likely to launch fully until next year. Delegates to the Digital TV Group’s (DTG) annual summit in London on March 4th heard that a ‘beta’ test version of YouView would probably emerge towards the end of this year.

YouView is backed by the BBC, BT, ITV and Channel 4, telco Talk Talk, Channel 5 and play-out specialists Arqiva. YouView’s first problem was with the BBC Trust which took more than a year to finally approve the BBC’s involvement (February 2009 to June 2010).

YouView’s CEO Richard Halton told delegates at the DTG event that the core technical specification would be published on April 14th to be followed by other more detailed system elements needed by product developers. He said he expected the YouView specification to form the model for similar services in other countries and regions.

However, these further delays mean the manufacturing sector is going to have to work hard to have products in retailer’s stores much before mid-2012.

Lord Sugar, the no-nonsense star of the BBC’s version of The Apprentice and the man who built Amstrad, is expected to replace Kip Meek, the current YouView chairman, and has been given the brief of knocking heads together in order to get the service back onto a dependable timetable. YouView is budgeted at £115 million(€133.4m) to cover development and launch costs and the first four years of operations. There have been widespread concerns that the ‘open standards’ used by the YouView project are anything but truly ‘open’. Investment bank Morgan Stanley, for example, sees YouView-equipped set-top boxes to likely cost anything between £150-£200 in the marketplace.

BSkyB’s ‘Anytime+’ and Virgin Media’s TiVo-based VOD services are already active, while Arqiva’s SeeSaw VOD service is also live, but reportedly up for sale. BSkyB is lobbying against the use of public cash to the disadvantage of private broadcasters, while Virgin’s CEO Neil Berkett has also been a highly vocal critic of the scheme.

Premier League TV football choice 'upheld' by EU advice

Premier League TV football choice 'upheld' by EU advice

Broadcasters cannot stop customers using cheaper foreign satellite TV equipment to watch Premier League football, an EU legal adviser has said.

A non-binding opinion from advocate Juliane Kokott of the European Court of Justice said a block breached EU laws.

Portsmouth pub landlady Karen Murphy, fined for using Greek decoders, had argued the EU single market should let her use any European provider.

Sky and ESPN have the broadcast rights to Premier League football in the UK.

The satellite broadcaster has pumped billions into top flight English football since the league was founded in 1992, with the money given to clubs allowing them to buy some of the top names in the world.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) will make a ruling on the matter later this year.

'Damage interests'

It also says it "would damage the interests of broadcasters and viewers of Premier League football across the EU"

TV money has helped bring top foreign names into English football A spokesman added that if the advocate general's guidance was taken it would stop rights holders from marketing their properties in a way which meets the territorial and cultural demands of broadcasters.

They said they hoped the ECJ would uphold current European law, which the league said was "framed to help promote, celebrate and develop the cultural differences within the EU".

The Premier League also said that if European Commission wanted to create a pan-European licensing model for sports, film and music then it must go through the proper consultative and legislative processes, not use the courts.

'Contrary to EU law'

The case at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has been about whether a rights holder such as the Premier League can license its content on a country-by-country basis.

Such a set-up has allowed the league to fully maximise the value of its rights.

Karen Murphy on why she took her fight to Europe, speaking in October 2010
Although Advocate General Kokott's opinion is not binding, judges usually follow the guidance from the advocate.

If they do, selling sport, movies, or any other content, on an exclusive territory-by-territory basis within the EU may no longer be possible.

"The exclusivity agreement relating to transmission of football matches are contrary to European Union law," she said in her opinion.

"(The) exclusivity rights in question have the effect of partitioning the internal market into quite separate national markets, something which constitutes a serious impairment of the freedom to provide services."

Fined

Ms Murphy had been convicted for using the cheaper Greek satellite receiver to show top flight football in her pub.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On one matter, the plaintiffs and the defence agree. Karen Murphy's case at the European Court of Justice could herald a revolution. And it would not just be football and Sky which would be caught in the turmoil. Intellectual property rights across the European Union could be changed forever.

For the first time, Saturday 3pm kick-offs would be widely available to watch on TV. A lure for many, certainly, but would it damage attendances at football grounds across the country?

There could also be immense implications for how we can consume music, books and film.

This is a point of permanent tension in the European project.

How far can you have a single European market without any boundaries to impede its smooth flow? And how far are national borders not an obstacle, but a protection?
She used the Nova firm to show matches in the Red, White and Blue pub in Portsmouth as it was less expensive than Sky.

Enforcers working on behalf of Football Association Premier League Limited (FAPL) - the private company which represents the broadcasting interests of the 20 English Premier League clubs - brought the prosecution saying only Sky TV had exclusive rights to show its games in the UK.

She had to pay nearly £8,000 in fines and costs.

Industry experts say satellite companies face having to reform - leading possibly to the creation of just a handful of pan-European broadcasters.

It was pressure from Brussels which forced the Premier League to offer its live matches to more then one broadcaster, rather then just renew the exclusive deals it traditionally had with Sky.

Packages were consequently taken up by Setanta, and when they went bust, by ESPN.
