Our Freesat Standard Installation Includes;
1. Installation and alignment of single satellite dish and LNB to any wall up to 25ft. 2. Ground mount installation* (Patio stand may be required, see below). 3. Installation of single cable run from dish to receiver up to 20Mtrs away. 4. Fixings including bolts, clips, ties and connectors. 5. Installation and programming of your FreeSat receiver. 6. Engineers basic instructions to customer on how to use the receiver and remote. 7. Includes all labour up to 2 hours for a full install. (Over 2 hours see below) 8. Full 12 months warrantee on all parts and labour (Excludes high wind damage)
EXTRAS OUTSIDE STANDARD INSTALLATION Most Installs do not require extras but please note our costs below if extra work or parts are required and may be charged;
* TK brackets and pole size 12" or 18" =£35.00, or TK bracket and pole 24" =£45.00. * Patio Mounts =£25.00 (*May be required if dish is ground mounted) * Extra points. =£39.00 per point up to 20m (if required) * Cable runs over 20Mtrs. Freesat Questions Answered;
Will I require a satellite dish? Yes, Freesat is delivered by satellite so you will require a working Satellite dish connected to your Freesat product.
Will I need an aerial? No, Freesat is delivered by satellite so you will require a working Satellite dish connected to your Freesat product not an aerial, you cannot use an aerial for the Freesat reception.
I have Virgin Media or Cable; can I use a Freesat receiver on my cable system? No, Freesat is delivered by satellite so you will require a working Satellite dish connected to your Freesat product, it cannot be used with cable.
Can I use my current Freeview box? No, Freeview products are Digital Terrestrial products that work off a standard or digital aerial. Freesat products are Digital Satellite products and require a satellite dish instead.
Will I get free software updates? Freesat and the manufacturers will provide software updates for changes / improvements in their products. These will be update automatically without any user Intervention.
Why do I need to enter my postcode? You are required to enter your postcode so the Freesat products can assign the correct Regional channels for your location My BBC or ITV channels are not for my region? You can assign different Regional channels in the Menu> Edit Channels > Edit Customisable Channels menu; only the channels that allow changes will be available in this menu. If you require different regional channels then you can enter a different postcode.
Can I change the BBC channels to a different region? Yes, the BBC channels can be changed in the Menu> Edit Channels > Edit Customisable Channels menu; alternatively you can enter a postcode for the region you require.
Can I rename the channels? No, you cannot rename the channels on the Freesat box.
Can I setup favourite's lists? Yes, you can setup 5 different favourites' lists.
Can I receive Pay TV with Freesat? No, the Freesat products are designed for FREE channels from Freesat; it is not possible to receive/upgrade to Pay TV channels.
Can I get Sky channels? No, the Freesat products are designed for FREE channels from Freesat; it is not possible to receive/upgrade to Sky Pay TV channels.
What way do I point my dish? The Signal currently come from Astra 2D 28.5 Deg East Satellite if you need assistance with installation then please contact us, we will be only too pleased to help.
Can I connect the Freesat receiver to a recorder? Yes, you can connect a recorder to the Freesat receiver to record channels. How do I get my regional BBC and ITV channels to be detected? You need to enter your postcode and the correct regional channels should be selected for your area.
I have a HD Ready TV; do I need a Freesat HD Receiver? HD-Ready TVs mean you can connect High Definition products to receiver HD channels for superior picture quality than Standard Definition (SD) channels but you can connect an SD model to your HD TV but would not receive HD channels.
Can I use the Freesat-HD on a TV that is not HD Ready? Yes, the FoxSat-HD does have Scart & component connections to allow you to connect to a non HD-Ready TV and receive the HD channels but in a Standard Definition format.
Why do I need the Freesat if I already have a HD TV? HD-Ready does not mean you are actually receiving High Definition; instead it means the TV set is ready to have a Freesat-HD connected to it for superior picture quality.
What connections do Freesat receivers have? Please see the specifications or the rear view of the product for details of the connections and information (please see Help & Info on the receiver being purchased).
What is a USB port used for? The USB connection is used for Software updates in the factory or Service Centre and in some cases for external hard disk drives or interactive use; customers will receive all new software updates OTA (Over the Air) automatically.
What is the Ethernet Port for? The Ethernet port is not active at present; but as Freesat release new services in the future the software on the Humax Freesat products will be updated to utilise the Ethernet port for internet access and interactive use.
What if I am moving and I take the box to a different location? If you move to a different location then you will still require a satellite dish to receive the channels then all you need to do if you wish to receive the new regional channels then just enter your new postcode into the Freesat receivers tune menu.
I have a multi-room system; can I use the Freesat-HD? If you have a satellite Multi-room system you can use the Freesat-HD product. Can I record and watch different channels on the Freesat-HD receiver? Currently No, the Freesat-HD is a single tuner satellite receiver product so it is not possible to record and view 2 different Freesat channels at present, but there are plans for this in the future. I want to receive different Regional channels from those detected from my postcode? To change the Regional channels go to the Menu> Edit Channels > Edit Customisable Channels menu or enter a new postcode for the area that you wish to receive the regional channels from.
How do I find out what channels are available? For a list of channels available from Freesat please visit our website or go to Freesat official site.
Can I use my current satellite dish? Yes, if you have a working satellite dish that you current use for UK satellite broadcasts (e.g. Sky) then you can replace your existing equipment for a Freesat-HD, but please be aware that in some areas the minimum dish size recommended for Freesat is at least a 60cm dish.
Can I add channels that are not available through Freesat? Yes, the Freesat-HD has a Freesat mode and a non-Freesat mode. Please visit the Advanced Section on the receiver for more information.
Can I connect it to a Multi satellite or motorised system? Yes, The FoxSat-HD product can be used with a DiSEqC 1.0 / 2.0 switches or a DiSEqC 1.2 motorised System, but this product is not really designed for foreign channels from aboard.
I have a motorised Satellite Dish; can I use it for Freesat? Yes, you can use a Motorised dish (DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS) with Freesat, but this product is not really designed for foreign channels from aboard.
What is the difference with SD and HD receivers? SD stands for Standard Definition and HD Stands for High Definition, an SD receiver will not receive HD channels, whereas an HD receiver will receive both SD and HD channels.

Please Be Aware: Although it is ok to use an existing Sky Dish in the UK for the reception of the Freesat Channels, Please note that in some cases the Sky dish will not be a as strong a signal with the FreeSat channels as with the Sky channels, and this would mean changing your dish size to at least 60cm in the UK and even larger in other areas.
RECOMMENDED DISH SIZES FOR FREESAT (See Footprint Chart) UK: Recommended Dish Size is a 60cm Dish in the UK
EUROPE: France, Spain And Other Parts of Europe Will Need A Larger Dish Size And in Some Cases Will Not Be Able To Receive The Freesat Channels.
Please Also Note: You will need to receive a good signal to be able to download the FreeSat receiver from the start; if this is not available then the receiver will not download the channels.
